Stairway to Heaven

Not cos it's all angels and harps at the end, but rather more because it's basically a seemingly endless piece that everyone just gushes about, but actually it's tedious, annoying and just pisses you off, generally.
It's the Grouse Grind.
What is it, you ask me? Well Grouse Mountain is about 1 km high, and is located in North Vancouver. It has ski slopes, wildlife enclosures and cafes on top, and carved into the side are hiking trails that snake their way up the mountain. The Grind is the most popular route and is, I think, the most direct route up. It rises about 1km in height over a distance of 2.9 km, and a reasonable time to complete it would be around 1.5 hrs. Some do it below 45 minutes, though, and if that doesn't astound you, then let me assure you, it bloody well should. Jason does it in 42. He's also climbed it 55 times. The day we went up, it was his 2nd time that very day. It's rather apparent that he must be a psychopath.
